Fiorentina vs Everton 2:0

Everton lost their 100-percent UEFA Cup record with 2-0 defeat at Fiorentina in their last 16, first leg clash on Thursday. The Merseysiders came to this stage of the tournament with six wins out of six but their play in Florence was pretty poor.

Fiorentina was much better team through all 90 minutes, but Serbian striker Zdravko Kuzmanovic scored first goal with 20 minutes left, driving a 23 meters low shot behind Everton’s goalkeeper Tim Howard.

Second goal that crushed big percentage of Everton’s hopes for UEFA Cup 1/4 finals, was scored by Riccardo Montolivo, on 81st minute. Martin Jorgensen flicked the ball back to the edge of 16 meters area, for Montolivo’s volley that Howard could just follow with his eyes.
