Ronaldo fears English football’s referees
March 10, 2008
Cristiano Ronaldo has said poor refereeing standards in English football have left him “scared” to play his natural game after a controversial performance by referee Martin Atkinson contributed to Manchester United’s shock 1-0 FA Cup lost from Potstmouth.
Manchester’s side is very angree at Atkinson, not much because of penalty that led Portsmouth to semi-finals and red card United’s goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak got for that foul, but for his failire to punish Sylvain Distin’s foul on Ronaldo in a first half, with a penalty too.
